What's the Weather Like?
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NEW SOUTH WALES HAS DAYLIGHT SAVING FROM THE END OF OCTOBER TO THE END OF MARCH. ADD ONE HOUR IF YOU ARE COMING FROM QUEENSLAND.
Byron Bay has a subtropical climate, which means that it has hot, rainy summers and cool, dry winters. The summer months are December, January and February, with February generally being the hottest and most humid. The humidity drops around the end of March and winter and spring are usually fine with bright blue skies, low humidity and the maximum daily temperatures around 20oC.
All the year round, the climate allows outdoor activity. Eating al fresco is also possible for much of the year. If you are spending extended time outside, remember to have plenty of drinking water and to protect yourself from the sun.
REMEMBER TO SLIP, SLOP, SLAP. Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat. Sunburn is a serious risk, even in winter.
